Method
- Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook pasta until al dente (8–10 minutes). Drain pasta and reserve ½ cup of the pasta water.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet. Season steaks with salt and pepper. Sear steaks for 4–5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let steaks rest before slicing.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic in olive oil and butter until fragrant. Add heavy cream and Parmesan. Whisk to combine until the sauce thickens.
- Toss the cooked pasta in the creamy sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed. Stir in the sliced steak just before serving.

Ingredient Swap: I've found that if I'm out of fresh basil, a sprinkle of dried Italian herbs works wonderfully to add that aromatic touch, though fresh truly makes it pop.
